I see things keep going wrong with the beer and advertising trucks. Unfortunately, I know my comment won't make any friends. It's just a rather technical one.
Grell is a manufacturer of beer and advertising trucks, which actually consists of B. Grell, D. Grell, R. Grell, and Grell Werbeargetur. It's purely a manufacturer of beer and advertising trucks, not a brand, as it concerns the rights of the advertising brands (breweries, soda brands, shops, and the like hold the trademark rights). These brands also commission the production. They also handle distribution for a small number of clients.
Dit construction geld ook voor Hümmer Werbemittelen, Highspeed, DGD werbemittelen en een paar andere.
The brands are Coca Cola, Fanta, Veltins, UR Pils, Haribo, TOOM, Krombacher, Leikiem, Warsteiner, Paderborner, Kulmbacher and many others.
There were still a few odd ducks in the group, such as Blister Zabawki i Zabawa, a Polish company that was on the market for a few years after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Blister was often mentioned.
For all these manufacturers it often also applied that the brands had the packaging done themselves, which sometimes meant that parts from multiple manufacturers ended up in one package.
I also notice that the names are not used in full, which has even been incorrectly corrected.

The brands Wiking, Herpa, Alberdo, AMG, Kibri, Faller, and others have produced model cars using their brands. They make agreements about using these brands, sometimes even paying for it. In this case, these brands decide for themselves what they produce.

Hopefully the admins and posters of these collectibles understand what I mean.

An explanation with examples of LD numbers would help better.
From your explanation, I understand that Grell isn't a manufacturer and/or brand. Please provide a few LD numbers and specify what the brand and/or manufacturer should be.
For example from #7639653

Grell is a German company in so-called 'promotionals'
Dixit wikipedia.
In 'Model Cars', brand refers to the brand of the model car.
No car brand/beer brand/lemonade brand/...
Manufacturer refers to the maker/fabricator of the model.
So Warsteiner was never a model car brand, but a beer brand.
#11339869
Where the brand is 'Matchbox'.
And the manufacturer is 'Mattel'.
And manufacturers change quite often.
And manufacturers produce for multiple 'car model brands'...
Warsteiner can be the publisher, but only produce/make...?
Brand name is usually the name by which the product is known/sold...
The 'manufacturer' field is therefore only intended for the 'maker' of the model car.
If there are multiple manufacturers, please indicate the main manufacturer and list the other manufacturers in the details field.
And of course it also happens that car model brand and manufacturer are 'the same', the name is the same.

@Collecteur
The example you gave is the Dr. Oetker brand and the manufacturer Grell Werbeargetur. While this is true for many of these brands, the manufacturer is listed with the brand, but it's not complete.

@buizer
Just to be clear. Warsteiner, Veltins, Dr. Oetker, and so on, are the brand in what you call "promotionals." These brands are technically the publisher of these. You even vaguely mention Grell as the manufacturer. This is even stated on the packaging of these products, stating that Grell Werbeargetur is, among other things, the manufacturer.

It seems clear to me that this is a different brand-manufacturer link with Mattel, Siku and the like.

Just to be clear, in the past I had a collection of these cars, motorcycles, airplanes, balloons, hitched vehicles, and the like, numbering over 9,000 items. Due to a move abroad and a smaller home, I sold these. I did keep some of my reading material.
Where I know there are only a small number of collectors, and where prices are different now than when I started collecting.

Will post more examples this week Collectioneur

A few notes:
The Manufacturer field is for the actual creator of the item.
A manufacturer sometimes uses multiple brands to sell this, hence the Brand field.

What is printed on an item, in the example of #7639653 that is Dr. Oetker, is therefore separate from Manufacturer and Brand.
In fact, we should add a new field "Ad Name" for this.

An additional field isn't necessary, as some people are taking shortcuts without actually having it in their collection area. The packaging couldn't be clearer, as it simply states "produced by GDG werbemittel, or Grell werbemittel, or another Grell subsidiary, or similar manufacturers."
These companies produce on behalf of brands such as Coco Cola Ltd, Warsteiner Brauerei Gruppe, Veltins Brauerei, Edeka Gruppe, Henkel, and so on, because that's also the brand. These companies have multiple components for advertising.

buizer
One tip Mattel is not correct when it comes to the manufacturer it should be Mattel Creations to do it correctly.

janvertigo
It is not about the advertising input but about the correct use of producer and brand.

Mattel Creations is simply the former name for Mattel...
And the model cars weren't there right away either...
I don't think anyone uses that name anymore and/or even knows the name...
Mattel Creations is also the name of a collector's platform these days...
