Ik zoek een trilogie die ik in de jaren '70 heb gelezen. Het gaat over een oude man die in de kelder een trompet vindt, hierop blaast en er dan achter komt dat hij over een andere wereld heerste en tijdens een uitstapje op Aarde vergeten was wie hij in werkelijkheid was. De titel noch de schrijver weet ik, misschien kan iemand mij verder helpen.

I'm looking for a trilogy that I read in the 1970s. It's about an old man who finds a trumpet in the basement, blows it and then discovers that he ruled another world and had forgotten who he really was during a trip to Earth. I don't know the title or the author, maybe someone can help me.

Er zijn er maar drie vertaald, dus een verwijzing naar trilogie ligt voor de hand. En de vertalingen zijn hier midden jaren zeventig verschenen. Bovendien zijn de boeken zelfstandig te lezen en vormen een afgerond verhaal.
