Dit lijkt me niet een juiste oplossing. Het lijkt mij logischer om plaatsnamen als een thema te beschouwen, wat het ook eigenlijk zijn. Het is een zo vaak gebruikt thema dat het een eigen status heeft gekregen. Logisch is dat niet. Zelf heb ik al mijn kaarten uit Valkenburg ZH onder het thema Valkenburg ZH gebracht.

Catawiki beschikt over een zoekfunctie wat betreft plaatsnamen. Ze ook als thema invoeren is mijns inziens overbodig. Als we bij thema’s een beschrijving van de afbeelding geven, bv molen als er een molen opstaat. Meerdere themanamen zijn mogelijk.

Catawiki has a search function for place names. In my opinion, introducing them as a theme is unnecessary. If we give a description of the image for themes, eg windmill if a windmill is on it. Multiple theme names are possible.
Ik heb niet bedoeld om plaatsnamen ook als thema in te voeren naast het bestaande veld plaatsnamen, maar om plaatsnamen sowieso als thema te beschouwen en niet als een apart veld. Dat maakt de database eenvoudiger, maar volgens mij ook logischer qua opbouw. Een plaatsnaam is eigenlijk gewoon een thema. Bovendien schept dat de flexibiliteit dat ieder zijn eigen definitie voor plaatsnaam kan hanteren: dorpen, gemeenten of wijken of noem maar op. Elk thema is immers mogelijk. Je kunt er meer invoeren.

Heb je gelijk in. Ik ben ook niet echt blij met de kreet dorpsgezicht en stadsgezicht, maar “onbekend” als thema naam gaat er bij niet in, vandaar stadsgezicht etc.
