For an administrator: I know that it makes little or nothing for the search, but it is possible to standardize the catalog with the following typos, capital letters and spaces. 1 C & amp; D 2 Don Ibarra 3 El Pino 4 Flor de Gusto Habana 5 Flor de Rafael Gonzalez 6 Flor de Ramirez 7 Garcia y Lopez 8 Gloria del Paz 9 Havana Quintet 10 Wassenaar Coat of Arms 11 K & amp; V 12 L & amp; Co 13 La Flor de Cuba 14 La Flor de la Isabela 15 La Flor de Pilotos 16 La Flor de Preferencia 17 La Lecitimidad 18 Manuel Babies 19 Patrons Patissiers (to be continued)

Thank you. I have already adapted simple problems myself, but I think they need a more specialized eye. An administrator has the choice: leave it as it is, link with alias or merge. 1 Braeckman & amp; Son [alias Brakman] + Braeckman & amp; Son (Brakman) + Brakman 2 Flor Fina + Flor Fina 3 Kong Christian [is not a typo] + Konig Christian 4 Louis V + Louis V. 5 P. Aerts (Attaka) + P.Aerts (Attaka) (to be continued)

That's clean. Is there a reason not to do Brakman, Flor Fina and P. Aerts?

Are combined. For technical reasons I have to apply for my rights as a super administrator every time. Chores like merging are therefore grouped.

Is there an agreement for series without a brand? I notice that in most cases these are still linked to the brand where they belong. I try to imagine that I have no experience and that I have a band without a brand in front of me but have no idea where to look. Do you have a system for this or can we make a double link to the real brand and "without brand". Anyone has a suggestion?

The brand 'Without brand' only includes tires that do not have a brand indication AND that cannot be assigned to another brand / manufacturer. This is not entirely logical and is partly based on existing paper catalogs. In the past there has been discussion and consultation with a number of major contributors. I have resigned myself to the majority sense. There is also always the title field to look up as an absolute layman. Also in the series name (without brand) has been added, so that this can also be searched for.

May I just comment on what I will call the "Janssens family" for the sake of convenience.

1. In the alphabetical list per brand, this is now under the F, G, J, L, O and R. Can it be considered to change the name so that everything comes under the J?

2. It gets even more complicated when ties end up (probably by mistake) under the wrong "family". Do we expect everyone to have a catalog at hand or can we take the brand that is really written on the tape?

I would like to try a cleanup with the advice and help of an administrator.

1. No. It is a brand / manufacturer and not a person (anymore). A bit like Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) with perfumes or Rik Ringers with comics.

The & amp; suspected timing branding.

1927: start factory father Frans Janssens

1936: start new factory Frans Janssens and his 3 sons: Lucien, François & amp; Roger

User. Janssens

1960: death of father Frans Janssens, Lucien & amp; François stay in the old factory.

L. & amp; F. Janssens, François Janssens (Bonte), Lucien Janssens

1960: Roger & amp; Son Christian - start a 2nd modern factory

Roger Janssens & amp; Son

2. There are indeed a part wrong, among others at Gebr. Janssens. The listing on the tape is leading.

Fortunately no Jansens brand to be found!

Thanks for the info (and history). I have here an old AVB catalog where everything was under the J. Is there a recent version of this or anything else collectors are now referring to?

I'll try to take a look at the series and where exactly they belong.

In 'The Janssens case' anyway, the name is mentioned on the tires (front and / or rear. Also in this case an AVB catalog of 1990 or more recent is sufficient, as no new 'Janssens' series tires have probably been made. If you really want to collect bindings, of course, and given that the Catawiki catalog is still under construction - there are an additional +1000 items per month - investing in paper catalogs is interesting.

Gerard van Eijk has a site - based on the AVB with a clear division of the Fam. Janssens

Nice site with the series names, but not complete in terms of photos and info. Moreover, here (just like the AVB) everything is under J and we do not do that at CW. In another forum post, I also read that we don't always follow the AVB series names. So it remains a bit of research. Although incomplete for the time being, the most detailed information I can find is on CW.
