Details

The real kleckhamae is a great rarity and mainly known from dead and/or stranded specimens. The species is only found in Papua New Guinea. Easy to recognize by the small white shell with 4 lines on the outside of the lip, of which 1 line continues over the dorsum. The mouth, lip and columella are completely black in living specimens. Dead specimens may already have discolored to a more burgundy colored mouth. (As in the picture) Smaller shell around 40 mm.
