The 74th edition of the specialized catalog compiled and published by the Nederlandse Vereniging van Postzegelhandelaren (NVPH), is the reference catalog for stamp, postal history, postmarks collectors of the Netherlands & (former) Overseas Territories. With Ca. 900 pages, an improved format, many additions and updates, this hard-cover edition includes also the deluxe proof number 12 of the NVPH. This edition contains many additions and changes and an exceptional chapter. The most import changes en additions are : – A premiere! The first edition of an exceptional chapter on 24h format postmarks, compiled by Cees Janssen – Chairman of the Nederlandse Academie voor Filatelie since 2009. – A completely revised chapter on the 1st day cancels of Netherlands including the childrens/kids blocks issues from 1965-1973 and the souvenir sheets 1993-1997. – A clearer breakdown of the plate block numbers of the Beatrix, Xmas (Kerstzegels) and number stamps (Cijferzegels). – Addition of the latest issues of Nederland, Aruba, Curacao en Sint Maarten. – Inclusion of several new varieties and errors as well as a list of perforation errors and of prints errors in the Netherlands Overseas Territorities. This section is edited by Jan van Wilgenburg. – Inclusion of a glossary of terms in Dutch-English-Spanish-Chinese . – Improved classification of the surface mail stamps of the Netherlands Indies. – Addition of an important number of ‘mint’ prices in the Overseas Territories. – Several text changes and improvements, also in response to comments received from the catalog readers. In 2014, the catalog commission adjusted upwards several quotations, especially in the mint classic material of the Netherlands and Suriname. Furthermore, many prices of the Netherlands Indies issues, including the Japanese occupation and West-New-Guinea were changed. For instance, reference 47 of West-New-Guinea has doubled in price! The catalog commission of the NVPH intended to make this catalog user friendly to worldwide collectors by including, since this edition, a glossary of common terms in use in the catalog in several languages (English, Spanish and Chinese).
