Golden Grain 1982. This harmonious blend of grains has been aged for 35 years on still unused bourbon barrels. It is 1 of 310 bottles and it has an alcohol volume of 50%. The Vintage Malt Whiskey Company was founded in 1992 by Brian Cook, who previously worked as a director at one of the largest distilleries in Scotland. The Vintage Malt Whiskey Company developed its own brands such as Finlaggan and The Ileach as well as a range of single cask bottlings from well-known Scottish distilleries under the name Cooper's Choice. They are exported worldwide to 20 different countries. The company very carefully selects the malt whiskeys from the different distilleries. Each cask is assessed by a highly skilled panel of 4 tasters whether the whiskey is sufficient to bear the name of The Vintage Malt Whiskey Company. Tasting note: Color: yellow gold. Nose: emphatic aromas of lemon and yellow apples, supplemented with notes of honey. Taste: the notes of the nose continue, becoming a bit drier and above all spicier. In the long finish it gets a delicious addition of sweet spices.
