The Vintage Malt Whiskey Company was founded in 1992 by Brian Cook, who previously worked as a director at one of the largest distilleries in Scotland. The Vintage Malt Whiskey Company developed its own brands such as Finlaggan and The Ileach as well as a range of single cask bottlings from well-known Scottish distilleries under the name Cooper's Choice.
