Obv; cross Rev; Comb surmounted by S set aside by two inverted half-moons, The comb, symbol marked on the reverse, is a characteristic tool for the processing of fabrics for which Provins was the primary center of production and home of the great Fairs. The written sources mention it as "Provisinos posteriores" to distinguish it from the provisino of Champagne (Provesinvs vetvs) and later "Provisinos senatvs". His production continued until the 3rd quarter of the 13th century.
