Original cartoon in pencil on textured wove paper for Punch Magazine, 1938, shows two middle-aged gentlemen, surrounded by ladies in funny hats, reminiscing about something in the year when ‘women wore those funny hats’, but was there ever a year when women didn’t wear funny hats? Date stamped on verso 25 November 1938. Published in the 14 December 1938 edition of Punch Magazine. Card size 38 x 28 cm (15 x 11 inch), image size 25.5 x 17.5 cm, signed lower right, caption written in red ink in lower border. Some browning along edges, otherwise in very good condition.
