Details
This coin was minted in the ancient city of Markianopolis, Moesia Inferior in what is now Rekna Devia, Bulgaria. It was founded by Emperor Trajan and named after his sister, Marciana. It repelled an attack by the Goths in A.D. 248, but was eventually destroyed by Attila the Hun in A.D.447.
