Details
A gerah is an ancient Hebrew unit of weight and currency, equivalent to one-twentieth of a shekel, a shekel being 180 barleycorns or 60 carob. The mass is ca. 0.6 grams. Shekels were struck during the fifth and fourth centuries BCE by several rulers of Tyre, a city of ancient Phoenicia.
