Original comic strip art in india ink on card for the long-running ‘News 'N Nonsense’ series for the Toronto Telegram, 1942, shows two British civilians during the German bombing raids in World War Two apparently more interested in the fact that one of them has received a demand for income tax than the bombs falling around them. The regular "Sez Melinda" feature appears at lower right. Signed and stamped on verso by Murray A. Harris, who was a well known collector of graphic art in California. Card size 37 x 29 cm (14.5 x 11.5 inch), image size 36 x 21 cm, signed lower right, caption in pencil in upper border, and date stamped Oct 16 1942 on verso. In very good condition.
