Portrait bust to the left inside oval of Petrus Scriverius (1576-1660). Scriverius was a philologist, history writer and poet. He was friends with, among others, Janus Dousa and Josephus Justus Scaliger. Scaliger was also his teacher. Scriverius went blind in 1650.
