In 1948 a new series of small cars, the Minor MM series, was introduced to replace the ageing E-series saloon and Z-series van. The series II Minor appeared in 1952, followed a year later by a 5cwt van. The van body had a capacity of 78 cu ft. plus a further 12 cu ft. beside the driver. The Minor van became a huge success with all kinds of business users and was particularly popular with public utilities such as Post Office Telephones and the Royal Mail.
