Etching by Wenzel Hollar (1607-1677) after Francis Cleyn (ca.1582-1658) with a classic depiction of soldiers, with single combat in the foreground. On the right, a spear is stuck in a stump and a goddess helps it free. Jupiter and Juno are in the clouds. Numbered at the top 522. Signed at the bottom right in print. Possibly published in London by Jacob Tonson in 1697 in "The Works of Virgil: Containing his Pastorals, Georgics, and Aeneid. Translated into English Verse; by Mr. Dryden. Adorn'd with a Hundred Sculptures."
