Details
Original comic strip art in india ink on card for the long-running ‘News 'N Nonsense’ series for the Toronto Telegram, probably 1942, by which time Italy’s military shortcomings had become all too evident. It shows Hitler and Mussolini arguing about the progress of the war in Europe, and ending with an extremely bad pun. The regular "Sez Melinda" feature appears at the right. Signed "Harry Hall Toronto Canada" at lower right. Also signed and stamped on verso by Murray A. Harris, who was a well known collector of graphic art in California. Card size is 48 x 19 cm (19 x 7.5 inch), image size 46 x 14 cm. Some minor staining, otherwise in very good condition.
