Details
The company of the Brothers August and Frederick Duesenberg was active between 1913 and 1937. Duessenberg cars had the best bodywork at the time; they were fully made by hand. The family company Duesenberg Automobile & Motors Company Inc. was found in Des Moines, USA and manufactured luxurious automobiles. Shortly after its foundation, the cars were also successfully used for motorsport racing, the first race was won in 1924. Shortly after that the Brothers wanted enter the aviation industry and organized a license for US military aviation. This project failed at the end of World War one. In 1920 the Duesenberg brothers enlarged their company and started to manufacture cars. They were very advanced, but at the same time also very expensive vehicles that were sold on the market. The Model A was lighter and smaller than the corresponding competition, it was the fastest and most powerful car of its time. The brothers put heavy emphasis on advanced technologies and for example mounted overhead camshafts, as well as quadruple valve cylinder heads and the first sixteen inch four wheel hydraulic brake. The aim was to sell 100 cars per months, but it was far from reality and lead to financial trouble. In total only 650 units of the Model A were manufactured and sold in its six years of production. 95 parts with 49 decorations: 15 mask sprays 10 tampo prints 14 decals 10 free sprays 0 chromed parts
