Blue/White Good quality modelling from Dinky in the sixties, the Taxi version of the Austin 1800 Land Crab. The civilian version was No.171. Not a bad model of a car which was very popular and common in its day, it was just so huge inside. Nice features include jewelled lights and opening boot and bonnet. It suffers from the usual Dinky problems of the time of poor mask spraying of the silver trim and the track being too narrow, otherwise a very good effort.
The Dinky Austin 1800 Taxi was released in 1965 and remained in the range until 1967. It is not listed in Ramsay but is shown in some of the other guides and as far as I am aware there is no particularly rare version.
