Title: Horseman at Bridge Size: 56×68 cm Price: On Request Available Material: Oilpainting on board Hippolyte Henri Pierre Dubois, French painter, was born in Rezé in 1837 and died in Samoens (Haute-Savoie) in 1909. In 1859, he entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he studied with Gleyre. This talented artist will be director of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Algiers from 1885 to 1909 when it also carries the paint. Dubois has a strong influence on the artistic life in Algiers and was a founder of the Society of Artists Orientalists Algerians. He was appointed the second director of the School of Fine Arts of Algiers in 1885.
