Details
One of the early coin types, after the Greek occupation of Judea/Israel ended. Very rare two-prutah (trilepton) with a helmet replacing the typical bust of the emperor. John, son of Simon, was also the nephew of Judas Maccabaeus. Very rare, not struck with beveled edges and that is why they assume it is not struck in Jerusalem, they mention Samaria as a possibility. The "Head of" is unlike other coins, normally it is "and the Council of the Jews", why this is different is unknown.
