This series contains a complete overview of stories and individual gags, in their original colors, that Vandersteen published in magazines at the beginning of his career (1941-1951). Many stories and gags appeared only in black and white, incomplete or never before in an album. The Steel Blue Buddha appeared in Ons Volk from 06/06/1948 to 18/01/1949. The recorded parts of Bert Trekkers were published from March to June 1947 in De Toerist (semi-monthly magazine of the Flemish tourist association). With accompanying texts by Danny De Laet.
