DAIMLER 1/2 CAB - SWAN Mr. Thomas Roach started the first motor bus service between Swansea and Bishopston on the Gower Peninsula on 7th August 1915 using the fleet name Swan. In 1922 the service was sold to Mr. Rowland Taylor who joined the company and extended the service to Pennard. Further expansion occurred in 1935 following a merger wih Swansea Bus Services Ltd, known as "Kenwood Buses", operating a town service between Swansea and Morriston. During the war, the first Daimler buses were purchased to supplement a very mixed fleet. Number 29 (EWN 329) Daimler CVD6 with Duple coachworks was purchased in 1947 for tours and weekly excursions to Craig-y-Nos, Talgarth, St. Brides and Sully Hospitals. The Swan Motor Company was taken over by United Welsh Services Ltd. on 11th December 1950 involving some 26 vehicles, mostly Daimlers, including EWN 329. Limited Editions 6.500 pcs. (with certificate)
