Copper pipe holder, manufactured by Klaas Dijkstra in about 1925. The pipe holder is marked and numbered: 493/5. The holder has 3 recesses where a pipe can be stored. The copper holder shows at the top the view of a Frisian village with a mill. On the underside of the 3 recesses a beautiful decoration of flowers and leaves can be seen. Klaas Dijkstra (Sneek, March 20, 1895 - Hilversum, shortly before June 4, 1969) was a Dutch amateur scientist and Morosophist who claimed that the Earth is flat. Dijkstra started his company in Sneek around 1911 until WWII, after which he moved to Hilversujm. As a goldsmith he was engaged in embossing landscapes in copper and silver that were attached to cigar boxes.
