Château Hourtin-Ducasse dates back to the 18th century and is located in Saint-Sauveur, a district adjacent Pauillac. It is producing Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux since 1932. Two of the Château the previous owners of the 18th and 19th centuries, Mr. Hourtin and Mr. Ducasse, gave it his name. The vineyards are spread over 30 acres, with 25 hectares of vineyards between 25 and 30 years old. The soil is gravel and silica and planting are 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The wines are fermented in stainless steel barrels and then aged in one or two year old oak barrels.
