Details

This wine is one of the best single vineyard wines from Angelo Gaja from Barbaresco, located in Piemonte. This absolute top wine is characterized by a beautiful full and rich taste and fine tannins. This quality wine has an extremely long aging potential of more than 40 years with exceptionally good harvests. This wine is composed of 95% Langhe Nebbiolo and 5% Barbera grapes. The Sorì Taldìn vineyard is located in the town of Barbaresco, near Alba in Piemonte. The fermentation of the wine took place in steel barrels at a temperature of 28ºC for 1 week and 18ºC for a period of 2 weeks with the skins. Subsequently, the first maturation took place in barriques for a period of 12 months. Before the wine was bottled, a further refinement of the wine took place in large oak barrels for a period of 12 months. The Sorì Tildìn vineyard was bought by Gaja in 1967. The first harvest, as a single vineyard, was in 1970. Sorì means top of the hill with a view to the south. Tildìn was the nickname of Angelo Gaja's grandmother, Clotilde Rey.
