Details

The vineyard with the same name as the wine is located in the Barbaresco area. Darmagi is made from cabernet sauvignon supplemented with a little merlot and cabernet franc. The fruits go with skin on stainless steel tanks for ten to fifteen days to be fermented at about 26 degrees Celsius. The resulting young wine is then left to ripen for six to eight months on barriques, followed by a subsequent twelve months in wooden vats. The unique Barbaresco terroir is beautifully expressed in this wine, even though it is largely made from cabernet. Black-red in color and with strong cassis aromas, this Italian powerhouse is, despite its soft tannins, a fantastic alternative to any great Cabernet wine with great aging potential. Above all, this is an unprecedentedly delicious accompaniment to grilled and roasted meat and matured hard cheeses.
