Jet Line Candle Lighter Manufactured in the late 1940's (When the design was first submitted). This is an interesting and unusual lighter, as much for the designers as the design. Rather than having a base with a simple tube lighter stuck in it, this glass based lighter uses the whole base as a fuel reservoir and has a unique wicking mechanism which equals a long time between refills. A tube covers a large "padded" area adjacent to and containing the actual wick; the bottom of the tube has holes so that the fluid can be absorbed into this padded area. This lighter has, designed by Sydney Weston on the glass bottom. While Sydney Weston did the basic design, it was assigned to Rose Eratico, MAY 1951. Eratico designed the rest of the lighter and holds the patents for it. The candle top lifts off to reveal the lighter! This lighter has a deep Burgundy glass base
