Box (230x156x111mm) is most likely of Canadian origin. Made from wood covered with, by now dulled black lacquer. With attached lid with lock. Five cardboard, cloth covered drawers with lift up-and-out ribbons. Four for the tiles. One with partitions for counters etc. An instruction manual is also enclosed. Tiles (21x31x8mm) are made of smooth, rounded French Ivory (celluloid with ivory structure). The engraving is good but rather fickle. The Dots look like having been impressed. Bamboo 1 is a bamboo shoot. There are 3 spare tiles. Chances are that the tiles are Western made but engraved in China. Counters are strips of white, black, dark red, pink and light blue celluloid. Their denomination is not clear. Dice (4x) are made of bone with Western points. Wind indicators are two big disks made of celluloid and printed with the logo of the Chinese Game Company Montreal. 1x ivory white and 1x dark red. Possibly there should be two more disks. Instruction manual is a booklet belonging to the set. It is the 2nd ©1924 edited by Chinese Game Company Montreal. In the back their is a score sheet.
