Details

Box (331x212x32mm) is of German origin. Made of wood covered with beautiful, black artificial leather with a dragon logo embossed. The fixed lid closes with two locks. The inside of the lid is lined with green imitation velvet with the same logo. The interior, which is also lined with velvet paper, offers space for 2x two layers of bricks and compartments for chips etc. Stones (22x30x8mm) are German. Made of ivory-colored Bakelite (?). They are thin with sharp corners and edges. The characters and images are very similar to those of the games manufacturer Richter. There are no spare tiles with the game. Chips are made of yellow, purple, red, black and white celluloid. They are small and elongated. Dice (9x9x9mm) are made of black, glossy plastic with white Western points. Wind indicators are large round (Ø 31mm) plastic discs. It has a beautiful image of a real wind rose. With a red letter indicating each of the winds. Manual is an added but accompanying undated booklet. A publication by Verlag Paul Heimann & Co for Pehafra Qualitäts Fabrikat. The cover shows the dragon logo of the box, but the tiles inside are different from the game. There is also a sheet with a German excerpt from the game rules. Box, stones, etc. are in very good, almost unused condition. * In Germany, hardly any Mah Jongg sets were imported from China between 1920 and 1930.
