Made in England by The Chad Valley Co. Ltd. The company once was one of England’s most important toy makers. Chad Valley has used its design for boxes, tiles, wind indicators and instruction booklets over and over for some thirty years. Box (365x165x42mm) is English. It is made of cardboard covered with red textured paper. The loose lid features the characteristic Chad Valley label. Plus a small sticker from a library or so. The interior contains one box with 2 compartments for counters etc and 4 boxes for the tiles. Four racks (one red-brown and three dark-green) are also included. Tiles (22x30x13mm) are English. They are made from plywood with on top paper labels with the Chad Valley characters and graphics printed in 3 colors. Dots and Bamboos are more detailed. Bamboo 1 features a peacock. Counters are round, purple, green, orange and brown sticks. Dice (2x) are made of bone and have Western points. Wind indicators (4x) are made from cardboard with glued-on Chad Valley wind characters. Instruction manual is printed by/for Chad Valley, the 9h edition, August 1924. Also a anonymous count table. The extra Season 2 Red came originally with CV9.
