Box (175x152x96mm) is of American origin. Made of thick cardboard pasted with (somewhat blackened) dark green textured paper printed in yellow-gold with the Babcock logo, the name ‘Popular Edition’ and additional Parker Bros info. The box is small and has a loose lid and an attached front flap. Inside there are four trays. One for tiles and counters etc. And three for only tiles. The box has been almost totally restored with paper from the bottom of the trays. Tiles (22x45x10mm) are made of thick triplex. Printed with mono-chrome characters and images. The backside is green. Their dimensions are exceptional. As is the interpretation of characters and images. There (belong) no spare tiles (to the set). Counters are round wooden sticks colored red, green, yellow and blue. Difference in length define the four value. Dice (2x) are made of bone with Western points. Special is the small, green wooden dice-cup. There belong no wind indicators to the set. There belong no wind indicators to the set. Instruction manual is the red Babcock booklet. A special publication for/by Parker Bros inc. Inside mice damage is apparent. Parker Bros (a.o. the maker of Monopoly) has marketed a variety of Mah Jongg sets in various price ranges.
