Details
Box (223x165x68mm) is of Chinese origin. It is made of fine rosewood. The box is wide and high. The sliding lid is well framed but without carved characters. unadorned. There is a traditional copper handle on one of the short sides. Tiles (20x27x11mm) are Chinese. They made from an average quality, very thin bone combined with much thicker bamboo. The engraving is not very good. The Green Dragon is unusual. Four of the eight seasons feature a mandarin, a vase, a cock and a caterpillar with minimal golden accents. The other four show Chinese musicians. There are four spare tiles. Counters are made of bone with Western denomination. Dice (4x) are made of bone with Chinese points. Their container is a Cricket box. Wind discs are made of white bone and feature green characters with red initials. Their container is a bone Ming box with a green character on its lid. The set lacks an instruction manual.
