Box (240x195x180mm) is of Japanese origin. Made of black lacquered wood. The box is on all sides and on top illuminated with gold colored symbols. At the edges some pieces of lacquer are missing. The five drawer box has one grip and black metal corner pieces. Tiles (22x32x14mm) are most likely Chinese. The are made of fine, clear and thin bone combined with a right amount of quality bamboo. The engraving is better than average with the use of many golden accents. No numbers and initials are applied. Chances are that this is a ‘tourist’ set. There are 8 flower tiles, 8 extra sea-sons a 4 spare tiles. Counters are of top quality bone. Polished and with rounded ends. With Western denomination. 2p and 10p have blue dots. 500p has green dots. Dice (4x) are made of bone with Chinese points. Their container is a Cricket box. Wind discs are made of bone featuring rather square characters. Their container is a not a standard Ming-box but a low, round and lidless container made of high quality bone.
