Details

Burne Hogarth stopped drawing Tarzan stories from 1945 to 1947 after a conflict with United Features, Ruben Moreira (ps. Rubimore) finished the ongoing Tarzan story (Tarzan and the Tartars). Then followed the stories "Tarzan and the Vampire Queen" and "Tarzan and the Scourge", the story "Tarzan and Dallas Doyle" was again finished by Hogarth. Volume 15B shows all 86 Rubimore plates printed in black and white (#779 - #838) . The publisher of this series Flying Buttres/NMB initially did not want to publish the Tarzan stories drawn by Rubimore because of the "less spectacular drawing style". But because the story of Burne Hogarth from Volume 15 was not continued and the fans insisted on publication, the publisher decided to devote a separate volume to Rubimore, this became volume 15 with addition B (1946-1947). There is no signed and numbered edition of this volume.
