Fern Green Lichen green New Anglia and Prefect cars, designated 100E, were announced by Ford in 1953, and featured body styling similar to the larger Consul and Zodiac models. It was the first small Ford to feature unitary construction and was powered by a 1172cc engine developing 36bhp at 4500rpm. The Anglia 100E was replaced in 1959 by the Anglia 105E, but the 100E body was retained and renamed the Popular. It remained in production until 1962.
