Limited Edition 5.000 pcs. (with certificate) Announced in 1957, the 300 SL Roadster had better handling than the original ‘Gullwing’, and it was easier to live with and service. Low-pivot swing axles, with a horizontal compensating spring, made road holding far more predictable. The light-alloy, 3-litre engine was tuned to give 10bhp extra (now 250bhp at 6.000 rpm) and marginally more torque for flexibilty. There were only 1858 300 SL Roadsters built.
