4.2 Series I - Light Blue It is no exaggeration to say the 1968 Jaguar XJ6 moved the goalposts of vehicle refinement onto a different pitch, perhaps even one on a different continent. The press was astounded by the refinement and handling of the car. Its beautiful shape can largely be credited to Sir William Lyons, the founding father of Jaguar, but that phenomenal refinement and road holding was the result of engineering chief Bob Knight’s often unsung genius. With power from the Le Mans winning XK engine the XJ6 had everything it needed to be a world-beater. Although the problems of Britsh Leyland meant it was produced for longer than initially intended, it was still winning magazine group tests in Series 3 form 15 years after it had been launched. The car modelled here is a series one, shaped as Lyons intented before legislation forced the bumper height to be raised. This model comes with a twin axle horse box which the Jaguar was more than capable of towing, and would be the perfect combination by many people around the country. Limited Edition 3.000 pcs.
