Dark Green
In the late 1950’s the Chief Constable of the Somerset Constabulary, Mr Kenneth Steel decided that all of his Traffic Patrol Cars should be finished in Dark Green rather than the traditional black. This scheme lasted until amalgamation in 1967. This particular Jaguar was stationed at Taunton. It featured a standard blue roof light, a Police sign, bell and PA speaker on the front grille and a police sign above the rear registration plate.
