Who can tell more about The Collection label? It is on the back of the cover as a logo and most CDs also have Collection in their title and often contain 25 songs. Is it now a label and under which society does it fall today? It seems to come from the Netherlands, but I don't know any more.

Examples of this label can be found under The Collection

They almost all seem like Jazz CDs. Who has more info?

Unfortunately, the examples have not been added in full, it is difficult to see what is on the carrier or on the back of the covers.

Personally, I think it was published by handy guys, you cannot easily discover the label, and you will hardly find any information on the net.

Only if you see San Juan Music Group, if you search for that, you will end up with an Artists interest group.

Which I think says more

Some tracks of this complatation might not be the original artist (s)

At the end of the 60s, this kind of compilation LP, usually by several artists with title 14 origenal London hits, were usually top hits, but performances by unknown artists. the artists performing were also nowhere, here happens the reverse artist known only whether the recording is his? some can be 1 but also all but 1

It will not be completely illegal, but it is striking that you cannot find out anything about it, this label / series was usually released in the early 90s, 93/94.

Maybe there is a big label behind it which just wanted to get some salad somewhere

but the label?

point for the catalog what do you fill in at label?

Some tracks of this complatation might not be the original artist (s)

Read it carefully Dick, because it does NOT say that.

It says "Some tracks of this compilation might not be the original hit recordings but anyhow recorded by the original artists"

That teaches us two things:

1) it's lousy English. :-) (almost too bad to really come from the Netherlands)

2) they are later re-recordings and / or live recordings, but all by the original artist. This is also evident from the text Licensed from San Juan Music Group. It is not entirely clear to me why you call this an "Artists interest group", because it isn't.

I quote:

San Juan Music Group, Ltd., is a music and DVD licensing company specializing in the licensing of primarily back catalog masters and new recordings of catalog artists. Usually these masters are either re-recordings of original hits by the original artists, though at a later time, or live versions of original artist hits.

But it is one hundred percent legal. And so there is no big label behind it, (because they have access to the original hit recordings) but a bunch of schnabbelaars.

And yet when I click on any CD image in the label section I reported, I still clearly see a logo of The Collection in image 2. Just look at 751267

That may well have been chewed together, but if there are several CDs and they are all of the same format (25 songs, all Collection in the title, almost the same type of music genre, release songs start with COL), then it is professional. chatted together. I had already found a number of CDs from this label on Discogs under the label The Collection.

point for the catalog what do you enter at label?

So that is a good search, although that San Juan is in the label list, but it is very small on the cover, so I think that is not a label. At most, the owner of the rights or something. If The Collection is not a label, can we put it under series? Personally, I am not in favor of this, since it looks like it is its own label (even if it is a schnabbel label).

Given the serial number COL013, it would not surprise me if it is a collection of Wesgram from Oud Beijerland. Those guys are known for putting all kinds of things on CD and DVD. And that last word is exactly what it is.

Look this way we get a little further! All the CDs I saw in CataWiki under the label 'The Collection' (except 1) have different release numbers, but all start with COL.

The question remains where to place them, under a series or a label and if a label, which label? It is clear that the CDs shown belong together.

Furthermore, any additional information about this 'label' is of course welcome. I will see if I have such a CD at home myself.

I only came up with it because I wanted to complete information that came with a CD by means of the images. Someone had once again not entered all the information and when I see such an item, I cannot ignore it and I want to try to improve that information.

It says "Some tracks of this compilation might not be the original hit recordings but anyhow recorded by the original artists"

According to what I extract, you should read:

Some of the songs in this collection are not the original hit recording but were performed by the original artist.

Whoever that may be

In addition, it is strange that San Juan Music Group is called

Look at the description with the aforementioned discogs of this “label”

San Juan Music Group (New York)

Profile:

The San Juan Music Group were successfully sued on November 2 2000 by some music stars of the 1950s (Louis Jordan, Big Joe Turner, Leadbelly, Screamin 'Jay Hawkins, and to singer Betty Everett and surviving members of the Chi-Lites, The and the Eldorados) for using their songs without permission. Prior to the ruling, they files for bankruptcy.

It is likely that a lot (all?) Of the releases under this label are unofficial.

Also strange I find the mention Biem Stemra a Dutch product and manufactured in France.

And a label name The Collection is possible, but still not really to be found as a label.

Unfortunately, no scans have been placed with the CDs within Catawiki of this “label”.

Now it doesn't matter what the label should be, but we can't find it I have an idea that The Collection is related to some sort of series although I'm not sure either.

The items within Catawiki do not give a clear picture of a series!

Let alone a label.

I can only agree in Arco's comment which label should we mention?

That's just the question.

I searched for Arco for a while and I came across him in an offer in Spanish. This link contains the list: http://www.weton-wesgram.nl/overlay .php? id = cd47 & amp; changelang = es

And why is the 2nd image of the CDs a bit vague? I can clearly read a logo anyway. There is the text The Collection in a stylized way as if it were a logo and the text San Juan Music Group, Henry Hadaway and Music City Associates is still clearly visible on the scan.

Is it left under which label should they be listed? And so the series is Mozaik, if I may believe the brochure, but I think Collection is a better name. Because it is clear that they must be grouped.

Thanks Arco for the extra info and together we will indeed work it out. VAT, what are people from Oud Beijerland doing in Spain?

Indeed, the firm's full name is Weton-Wesgram.
Mentioning Biem and Stemra really means that it is a Dutch product. It is of course possible that they are also sold in Spain.

Do Biem and / or Stemra necessarily have to come from the Netherlands? I have a single in front of me "Made in Belgium", but with (only) Stemra on it. And a Gema / Biem from Germany.

Indeed, this does not happen so quickly have an example available.

The only thing I do know is that sometimes plates were pressed for other countries with the original label version being the only thing that was changed than the country of manufacture.

but what is the label now?

You can't just rely on the cover. In many cases the covers are printed in one country (eg Holland) and then get the stamp 'Made in Holland' and then they put a CD 'Made in Germany' in it. I have one of them (from the Beatles) that I have yet to enter.

@ Scam, you can't think you should add it any more.

Is what you indicate is correct, that is why we want to see a scan of the carrier and really as long as I am an administrator I will increasingly pay attention to that third scan.

The carrier is leading for the country.

now let's pay more attention to quality.

In addition, I have already indicated before an album actually consists of two items, the cover and the carrier.

But what is the label now?

I think I have really come across a big riddle in CataWiki. Incidentally, a very nice and interesting discussion.

@Dick I also have to enter a whole bunch of records, books, games and other stuff. That does not happen so quickly for everyone.

Shouldn't we state the information about the cover and carrier separately in the Catalog for an item?

Weton-Wesgram was declared bankrupt last November, I just read. Hopefully this topic will not pass ... (;-)
