Are there still beer coasters collectors who are active, who look in every pub to see if there are coasters that you do not have yet. I am curious about .. :)

Haha, in the Netherlands I always check which coasters they have.
In Austria, I always take one with me, wherever I go.

Hello felt idiots

For about thirty years I have been rousing felt pads where I come and when I speak with someone who is going on vacation the question is rock solid "see if you can find felt pads for me"

I don't know how many I have but it won't be far from the thousand.

I have noticed that if you kindly start talking about felt pads in a catering establishment, that often something still comes out from under the counter

Today I started photographing and importing because I have run out of fresh coins a bit :-)

After a quiet period, the collection was actively resumed. and indeed, wherever we go, bring a piece of paper.

Every colleague who goes on holiday and those who go out in the city are also asked to bring felt pads. Always nice to see people thinking of you!

They now have at least 1200, of which only the Dutch have been selected and are listed here in Catawiki. I still have to sort out all the foreign ones and keep them from duplicates.

Does anyone know if there is some kind of exchange? Can only sell here and we prefer to exchange.

And one more question. There seems to be a list with Grolsch felts (by number) on it. (and miss also from other breweries). Who can help me with that? Already googled but nothing comes out.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Sjef.

Is idd a nice site and also a Dutch found through their links, but not yet the list that there would be from Grolsch.

The site of grolsch collectgilde is under construction so maybe I can find something on it.

Greetings

Hi Malle Pietje :-)

What should I imagine with rubber felt pads?

Are there any beer brands?

Know the Heineken with a cork underneath, but have never seen rubber felts from companies. Well that you can buy in all kinds of colors at the Xenos etc., but for the rest it doesn't mean anything to me.

Hello Joor73,

If you mean that round of the Xenos in the 4 colors light blue, light green, yellow and orange, I also have 5 different ones from Finland made of black rubber with tire profile, they are beer mats but not from a beer brand but a hotel. chain

Greetings Malle Pietje

I'm not a fanatic beer coaster collector yet, but I'm more into beer labels. The felt pads were bycatch at first, but fanaticism is starting to grow. Also thanks to exchanging my duplicate copies. Now have about 150 pieces, but only from beer brands ..

I have noticed that if you ask in a pub or restaurant for felt pads, instead of just taking them with you, you almost always get several of these will receive the new unused copies and also more different felt pads than you see in the store.

They also indicate that they appreciate asking for them more than just taking them with them ...

Hi everybody,

That's what makes it fun, taking beer coasters with you from a pub, café, brasserie, restaurant ... you not only have the coaster but also the memory. As a Fleming, my largest collection is of Belgian beers, but they also have quite tasty beers in other countries and this year I even brought some from a micro brewery in Mexico.

Keep the tradition alive!

Hello Borgharen, do you also use the CataWiki Catalog or do you only use CataWiki as a source of information and advertisement? CataWiki is not intended for the latter 2. With CataWiki you can easily keep track of your own collection of coasters and give searches if you don't have 1. Then you put the ones from the Catalog that you do not have yet in your wish list. With beer coasters from brewery De Ridder from Maastricht, it is a bit difficult, because the beer coasters are somewhat divided. They can be found under Beer mats and then you can click on breweries. I found them on the R (2x) and at the D (from De Ridder). If you then click on For Sale, you will see all beer coasters that are being sold. In the overview there is a shopping basket with the picture if it is for sale. And I want to ask the administrators if they want to merge those 3 brewers. Good luck with your collection.
