I bought a gold tenner at a jeweler now someone tells me based on these pictures that it is fake, is that possible?

Inkie1987
It really seems to me that you are fooling us here,
Of course this is not a real coin, but it can be clearly seen from the Muntschlag.
If you actually bought this I would return it quickly.
Here's a real gold tenner from 1917

Inkie1987 Lyonesse

Inkie : I also have no understanding of coins, but I am averse to anything that is fraud or scam.
The coin was bought from a jeweler? So so ... Returning is 1, but perhaps also reporting to our police force, after first a second opinion at another jeweler ..?

Harry56 Lyonesse I went to another jeweler, it is a real gold coin of a high carat 21 or 22, so probably 0.900 gold, only the weight is slightly less

Inkie1987
I can't say exactly if it's real, I just assumed it based on your photos.
There you can clearly see that the coin strike is not good.
But it may also be due to the bad photos taken.
Just one more thing about the gold 10 guilder Netherlands, which must have a weight of 6.73 grams.
So if that is not the case with your copy, then something is wrong.

Inkie1987 Lyonesse

If the coin is fake, as you yourself claim after the second opinion Inkie, then 2 jewelers are not doing it right. That would be very strange. In any case, good luck.

A jeweler is not a coin seller. Whether you have been misled may also depend on the price you paid. The quality of the coin does not seem to make much of a difference to its trade value.
But a reliable trader will definitely give you your money back.

Could it be a coin that is meant to be worn on a chain?

Personally I would get the creeps if I saw such a coin, another reason why I don't save gold. In principle, the gold coin in the Netherlands should always have the same weight (a few hundredths are not everything, but in my opinion almost half a gram is too much (soon about 30 euros worth of gold!). the coin has been counterfeited with a mold made from a real gold tenner, so it could very well be made of real gold Ever heard a story about a counterfeit tenner that was hard to prove, gold came from the good period (can they on determine one way or another), weight was good, but the experts still had doubts. When counting the hairs, Wilhelmina turned out to have one hair too few on her head.
