Except for a few newspaper reports (via Delpher) 1948 about this "Olympic" sports book, I couldn't find anything about the writer B. Baanen. In itself a name that is not very common in the Netherlands. The foreword still talks about the paper shortage in the Netherlands after WW2 and the lack of pecunia, which made a trip to the Olympic Games in St. Moritz a dream for most citizens. Hence this report of a trip to St. Moritz and explanations about the various winter sports, backgrounds and competition reports. Is it a novel? ( ABC series are novels ) , is the I figure the writer B. Baanen , with his typewriter under his arm with KLM and train and bus moving around ? As a sports journalist...
It fascinates me, written before 1948 pleasantly smooth and humorous, does anyone know more ??

Have fun in the new LD with a modern catalog, where you can enter more information via photos or scans.

According to KB:
Author: Bob Baanen (1948-1980 fl.) (not year of birth and death, but year of publication).
