Hello ,
Now I have not been collecting phone cards for very long, very nice but I have a few questions.
Unused and undamaged: how do I find out about chip cards? can you read it with a software program?
Used and undamaged: Used > card has no credit left?
undamaged : if the card is used how can it be undamaged ?

Then the optical cards, is there a possibility to check the phone card, because it is not always easy to see, I don't think P,s even with glasses or magnifying glass.
It's all new to me hopefully someone can answer me here on the chat.
gr Hank

Hello henk111 , welcome to LastDodo, on https://www.marktplaats.nl/l/vercollecten/phonecards/ you can regularly find card readers, starting at € 1
Unused is with calling credit, the list price applies to good condition.
Used, has been called at least 1x, the list price applies to good condition.
An unused card may be damaged, a used card may look like new.

With the optical cards you need a working card phone to check the units, or look at the card with a flashlight with the black side facing your face, you can usually see if it is unused, sometimes really used optical cards are much worth more than unused cards, so be careful not to place too much value on unused cards.

lots of collecting fun

greeting
Phono card

Hi Phonocard,
Super thanks . Why is it that the optical cards used are sometimes more expensive?
The undamaged used telephone card is therefore possible. I think that is special.
It is completely true that an unused card can also be damaged, does it fall in the table, reasonable condition?

Regards Hank

henk111 If a promotional phone card is made by a merchant to make money, it has not been called in 99.99% of the cases, a "real used" card is extremely rare.
It may also be that a card has just been issued before a system change and therefore most of them are unused and really used is therefore rare.
We do not use the term "reasonable condition" and is (still) a legacy from the past, everyone thinks it is something different, what is reasonable condition? with scratch? folded? chip out?

Hi Phono Card,
Thank you for your clear explanation, I can work with that.
I currently have 1 question left. The cards in my possession have been collected through auctions. The last lot includes a folder of about 1500 cards with the same front, only the back changes over the years. Is this mainly about obtaining consecutive serial numbers? And a 100 pieces are with advertising for the city of Maastricht: Preuvenemint by the company top art Enterprice bv.
I think that is very special 100 pieces in an edition of 1000.??
Greetings Hank

As Phonocard already indicated, some of the promotional cards, such as the Preuvenemint card, have also been distributed to the public or have been made available to the Dutch Phone Cards Club. Many advertising cards to collectors have also been reinforced in the form of subscriptions. These advertising cards are widely available nowadays, given that the minimum edition was 1,000 pieces and only a small number of collectors have survived. The 'small' edition of those days is no longer small.

More difficult to obtain are maps that have not been made available to the public. Only customers or purchasers of a (certain) product received this card. Some cards have also been recalled or largely (accidentally) destroyed. However, it should be noted that in recent years, for example during attic clearances, such cards have floated to the surface in tens to hundreds. This in turn makes these cards easier to obtain over time.

As for the 1500 cards with 'equal' front. As you may have noticed in the catalogue, there are many cards with the same front cover but a different batch number. The batch number tells something about the manufacturer and the period of manufacture, among other things. Batch numbers also give an indication of the edition. With 'high' circulation phone cards / phone cards that have been on sale for a long time, many variations based on the batch number can be found. Some collectors stick to collecting 'pictures' (i.e. of each identical front), others also save eye-catching details, such as a large and a small batch number or chip variations, and some collect on the basis of batch numbers. The Lastdodo catalog is based on batch numbers to be such a true-to-life catalog.

Regards,
Sebastian

Hi Sebastian,
Thank you for your explanation. They are indeed nice consecutive numbers in a batch.
The advertising cards are indeed also present in my collection.
And to be fair, I managed to get a little under 10,000 cards through an auction. And that's not really collecting. That's buying and selling. But because I've started to find out more about a phone card, I'm going to like it too hahaha. As you and phonocard already wrote, there are many different angles that make a value higher or lower.
like the attic cleanup never thought it could affect.

Good evening
Hank

Js is correct, only I had a completely different picture. In Brunssum I knew a man (1998 to 2002) who went to all telephone booths every day on his bicycle through the village and the surrounding area. He then arrived at the table tennis association around 8 p.m. to play a game of table tennis and then went to have a look at a place where it had not yet been. Haha great right. Of course he had already asked us empty. So I had that image of collecting these beautiful cards. Of course that does not apply to every collector hahaha and yes I mainly buy and sell.
