The export of your collection, list of values or shop has been renewed.

Now also large collections can be downloaded as Excel or .CSV file.

On computer screens you will find the export button on the right side of the screen:

On mobile you can find it via the menu in the circle with the three dots:

You can do an export per category or for your collection, search list or shop as a whole. As before, you get a grouped list and a flat list.

At the moment the export fields are still the same as before (except for an error in the cigar bands export). Later this year we will be working on adapting and expanding fields.

Have fun with this new feature!
And let us know in the unlikely event that there are problems or ambiguities.

Thanks to Raoul62 and Ted for testing.

Rene First reaction: a smile on my face. My entire collection in an Excel file. The format is now also the new(er) xlsx. I say great.

What used to be called series is now called Country/Area, which also covers the load better.
I think issuance has been added, just like Month and Day.

And then the critical note: the Title column is empty, That's where the name of the seal should be?
And... no filters? :)

I think the columns have yet to be looked at. That's what Collectioneur told me when I started testing. Is it right ?
Because if that is already part of the tests, then I better get into my pen (grin).

It's mainly how it works now. And it now works perfectly. The export according to category can sometimes be large, you will receive a link in your mail within a minute. And you can choose between XLSX and CSV!
Layout according to Western European standards, and the accent marks are neatly legible on your screen. Which is not always and everywhere the case (broad grin).
Double click on the CSV and you'll have it in Excel too.
Anyone who falls outside those Western European standards, and who knows the specific CSV Microsoft meta tags, can adjust this for themselves.

With the Excel you get all the bells and whistles that Excel has to sort, filter, search ...
With a small simple pivot table in Excel you can even do the old-fashioned list 'country - number' in a few mouse clicks.

With the CSV you can easily get started with Excel, Access, SAS, TM1, BO, Qlik, or whatever to create your own reporting. Just wait a minute to get the export, then press the button and 'Tadaaa ...'.

Something is indeed wrong with the titles on stamps. Let's take a look.
What do you mean by filters? In Excel you can filter on everything yourself, right?

It's great that I can make an export again ... I missed that for over a year. And multi gracias for the CSV file!

Now the same at catalog level (only for general administrators, for example) and we can approach quality in a much more targeted way, with far fewer clicks.

Yes that's right. And in fact it is not really necessary anymore. Because all lines are now exported (limit in Excel is 1048576, in csv I don't know; unlimited? Raoul62 do you know?).
Until now it would have been nice because of the limitation.
If I have now made an export, and I add a few stamps to my collection of, for example, the Netherlands, I have to make a whole new export, because only the Netherlands, that is not possible.
It would be nice(er), but absolutely no big deal. What Raoul62 already says: export is possible again, very happy with it!

Raoul62 I wasn't a participant in the testing, so I'm not familiar with that position. The extra columns were mostly an observation, certainly not a criticism (perhaps even on the contrary).
Only the Title column must have content.

But if all goes well the fields are still as before koenkuijpers
The titles are good again tomorrow I expect.

Rene the fields are really different, but I don't mark it as an issue.
But see attachment. On the left the new export (first line of today's collection), on the right the old export (first line of list of values from 25/7/2022)

Rene Export is fine for me now. The earlier demand for filters was indeed a superfluous one. The export is so fast that that is not an issue with the possibilities of Excel. Thank you!

Beyond the point really, but why would you want to export your collection to an Excel or .csv file? To do what? I'm just wondering: don't you have all the filtering options you need in LD?

Gentlemen just sketch a situation ; handy if something happens, right? Handy in case of fire or theft (okay not what you wish on someone), but that's imo. already a + point. And if you are at a trade fair, or just for example in a store (or thrift store, 2nd hand, etc..) print out an inventory list ?? Saves a bit if you don't have to 'surf' on mobile.

MennoGo Petvre

There are really a number of things you can do with the Excel that are almost impossible with the site. I can describe dozens of them, but I will limit myself.

First 2 simple ones for everyone.

1. The old-fashioned list of countries with number / top 10
This doesn't need much explanation; the simplest pivot table you can imagine. And then sort from most to least.
My own top 10 is immediately visible:

Just try the site. You can do it, with a lot of writing and clicking.
You can make such a pivot table in Excel in less than 5 seconds.
Manually it is time and time again hours of work. With the export, via VBA ... from the 2nd time 0 seconds of work. If you want, you can request the top 10 position every hour of the day. On the fly :)

2.Internal audit :)

A little further with a pivot table and you map out the relationships regarding the conditions. Here I saw for myself: I have to check Iceland. I have a lot more MNH stuff from that. I have a hole there. Perhaps, when I was turning that country into my collection, something got in the way.

You can of course go over and count country after country in your collection on LD itself. Here I found it in less than half a minute.
With a VBA process, to be created once, based on the CSV: 0 seconds of work. On the fly.

And then 2 simple ones for administrators and dutiful users.

Limits:
  • it is based on your collection. Luckily mine is quite big so I get a lot in. That is why I asked to also provide that export at catalog level. Then you can really check anything and everything. But that message has not gotten through. What a missed opportunity...
  • this is on the columns that were originally in the old export. When the other columns are added later (nominal value, perforation, watermark, ...) the possibilities increase incredibly.

1. Block catalog numbers - wrong format

These come, based on the flat list and if sorted properly, directly in the picture. No needless clicking to see if a block is correctly or incorrectly formatted.

A filter on 'B*' and you have them all in a row.

With item 5071809 you can choose what the Michel catalog number is for the block. The choices are 47, 50 and 51. I hadn't seen anything like this in my hundreds of thousands of clicks on the site lol

A VBA process based on the CSV and you can evaluate the state of affairs every hour, without investing time.

2. Catalog numbers that occur several times per country

Turning and filtering a little bit again and you have the catalog codes to check in front of you

You can calculate for yourself with 10 administrators how many years of work are left to get the catalog of > 800,000 items 'healthy'. For every type of error or anomaly, you immediately know what you are getting into (how many such errors are present).

Use your imagination. The opportunities are there for the taking with exports.
I think right?

Indeed, my examples above are based on my 'collection'.
But based on your wish list, you will have a shortfall list in 123. Was recently asked by someone.
You know, on LD, your wishlist is the biggest secret there is...so you can only pass something on to someone via an export.

I wonder about this: why should your wish list be invisible on a site under collectors??? That way I never get spontaneous surprises... and I love surprises so much lol
