Welcome to LastDodo.
A better entry to introduce yourself is in the topic: Introduce yourself!
Be sure to complete your profile with, among other things, the Country, then it will be easier to talk on the forum.
Success in entering your collection!

still seeing how it all works

That's the correct way to start Tientje :)
I have some tips. Nothing earth shattering, but it might be of some use to you.

At the bottom of every page on LD you will find Frequently Asked Questions . That is a first major source of knowledge at the start on LD.

The second major source is the forum (the Community ), but you have already found that.
Once on the Community you will see a search box at the top that says 'Search the forum'. If you are looking for something, and type in a good search term, you will (usually) find posts about the subject. Sometimes there is a solution to a problem you have there. After all, you are not the first new user on LD.

If you are considering modifying existing items (that's what they call things on LD), or adding new ones: first check whether there is a handbook for that section.
Eg. there is a 'Stamps Handbook' for the Stamps section.
You can find a rubric's handbook (if there is one) by:
1. Go weird the rubric
- eg click on 'Stamps' at the top;
- first click on 'All categories' (almost at the top, right) and then choose the appropriate category;
- first click on 'Catalogue' (top in the middle).
2. Click the 'Add an item to the catalog' button.
3. In a yellow 'tip window' box there is a link ('View the Handbook nnnnnn ... ...'). Click on it = the handbook of that section.

If the section does not (yet) have a handbook, you will have to make do with the agreements that are scattered throughout the forum for that section.
If something is really not clear, you still have the option to ask a question on the forum, or to send a message to an Administrator of the appropriate section.
Looking at what is already present in a section can also teach you something. But not everything is 'monkey'. It's a wiki. One user is already more effective, and more correct, than the other.
But: if you prepare well, you will also see what is wrong here and there, and then you can improve that.
Normally, any addition or change after that is reviewed by an administrator. However, in some sections the backlog is distressing, so it can sometimes take a while.

May also be in the low country language.

A few more facts on Lastdodo (LD): Each item on LD has a unique number. The LastDodo number. In the main screen of LD, or in the main screen of a category, you can place that number at the top of the search box. Enter and you will come directly to that item. For example, with 9094517 you could directly access a beautiful stamp.
Note: do not put spaces before or after the number in the search box (sometimes happens with cut/paste).

In a message on the forum you can precede the number with a # sign. Then this automatically becomes a direct link (you can click on it). Eg: #9094477 , another beautiful stamp.
Very useful if you want to post a question on the forum about a certain item.

If you want to reply to a message and make sure that another user gets that message, type an @ followed by the first letters of the username you want to shake up. After typing a part, you will get a drop-down list. As soon as you see the username in that list, click on it. eg HartienVerkoop . That user will certainly receive a message (email) from LD with a link to your message on the forum.
Users who posted a message or reply in a thread usually receive an automatic notification via email.

On the main page of each section you will find some administrators, and a link "View all administrators". Large active categories have multiple administrators. Eg. at Stamps. There is a super administrator (the chief of a section, super administrator), there are general administrators, and there are sub-area administrators. You can usually quickly get an answer to a question related to that specific area from the managers of sub-areas. If no sub-administrator is known, you can contact the general administrators or the super administrator. Viewed differently, something like this is also an open vacancy :)
