CollectioneurOk, maar 10 jaar terug was dat het plan. Maar het is blijkbaar niet doorgegaan. Misschien was er een goede reden voor, en daar hengel ik wat achter.

Raoul62Tien jaar geleden werd de focus geheel gelegd bij het ontwikkelen en opstarten van de Catawiki veilingen. Sinds de verzelfstandiging van LastDodo is de focus weer terug bij het ontwikkelen van het verzamellaarsplatform.
Thema is net als Landen en Personen rubriekoverschrijdend en zal in een later stadium zeker LastDodo breed worden ontwikkeld.
Raoul62Ten years ago, the focus was entirely on developing and starting the Catawiki auctions. Since the privatization of LastDodo, the focus has returned to the development of the collector platform.
Theme, just like Countries and Persons, cross-sections and will certainly be developed at a later stage in LastDodo broadly.
Mijn standpunt na 10 jaar is nog steeds hetzelfde. Thema's heb je niet nodig om een 'ding'-gerichte catalogus op te zetten. Thema's vormen een alternatieve manier om objecten te rangschikken. Ze zijn ook gelijk over de dingrubrieken heen. Je kan dan de verzamelaar twee views aanbieden van zijn collectie: één op soort dingen en vervolgens op thema (zoals nu); anderzijds op thema en dan op de soorten objecten.
Er zijn veel verzamelaars die alleen "dingen" verzamelen met een bepaald thema. Die moeten nu elke rubriek steeds napluizen of er iets in zit van hun gading. Het zou erg mooi zijn indien er straks een thematisch overzicht kan worden gegenereerd over alle rubrieken heen.
Maar aangezien een centra(a)l(e) themaregister/catalogus/rubriek, er waarschijnlijk nooit zal komen, mogen voor mijn part de postzegels Thema's (inclusief vertalingen) als extra veld ingeladen worden.
In het verleden is al menigmaal gezegd dat het verzamelaarsplatform ten dode was opgeschreven. Moet je nu eens kijken wat er sinds de verzelfstandiging al is bereikt, dus zeg nooit nooit:-)
My stance after 10 years is still the same. You don't need themes to set up a 'thing'-oriented catalog. Themes are an alternative way to arrange objects. They are also right across the things categories. You can then offer the collector two views of his collection: one by type of things and then by theme (like now); on the other by theme and then on the types of objects.
There are many collectors who only collect "things" with a certain theme. They now have to keep checking each section to see if there is anything they like. It would be very nice if a thematic overview could be generated for all sections.
But since a central theme register/catalogue/section will probably never come, for my part the stamps Themes (including translations) can be loaded as an extra field.
In the past it has been said many times that the collector platform was doomed. Now look at what has been achieved since the privatization, so never say never :-)
