ff beep in the section Phone cards. Is not that obvious ...
I see many items that could be duplicates, but they may not be. Every beginning is difficult. A little help would be welcome (ie: 'HELLEP!').

1. Belgacom white 20 units (or 20 units, it doesn't matter :))
(1a) For example, what is the magic difference between # 1058125 and # 6270203 ?

Actually I am looking for the 'White from Belgacom 20 Units from 1992' telephone cards (with such a plate) but with a check digit ( first four positions) 302F, 302H and 343C.
(1b) Is the only way to 'look at pictures' and open detail each time? Or is there a more convenient way?

2. Control digit identification
(see screenshot below)
The control digit (on the back) cannot be scanned, and it is precisely this control digit that makes the difference within a series where the fronts are identical. Actually, the backs (scans) of all cards from the same series are also identical (the images). I love the principle of the solution in image 2 of eg item # 8578063 . If something like this, but with big thick black letters in a vit box, can be generalized, it could save a lot of clicking when searching. But big enough that in an overview on the display of that 2nd photo (image small model) 3 or 4 characters can be read). Not in a third photo, because you don't see it in the list view (result of general search via the top box).
For those items where a second photo is missing, you can simply have a different back cover but with the correct code (in a white box with bold black characters) come ...
(2) Good idea or not?

3 . Call value
I see very good efforts with regard to the 'Call value' box. Is nice and well filled in with the items that I have looked at in detail up to now.
But in the left part of the screen I do not find a filter for that ... Now of course I think in terms of the section 'Stamps', where a great search filter is provided ...
(3) Is this not possible with telephone cards?

Thanks for reading, and many more thanks for answering.

:) :) :) :) Sometimes the difference is small ... especially when the name of a site changes. Then you see such differences bubble up.

The administrators can answer your questions, but I will answer your question 3.
But in the left part of the screen I don't find a filter for that ... Now of course I think in terms of the section 'Stamps', where a wonderful search filter is provided ...

This is the same type of field as Nominal value for Stamps, normally it cannot be filtered on such type of field. That requires a special approach from a programmer. I'm putting this on my wish list, but don't expect a fix for it anytime soon.

Tammo,
the same type of field as Nominal value for Stamps
Indeed, hence my comment 'Now of course I think in terms of the section' Stamps ', where a wonderful search filter is provided ...'. And that functionality is really great with Stamps.

The Belgian S cards are already in a row of issue https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/areas/441441-belgie?cf%5B8269%5D=3264551
The last few days I've been busy in the background (not on LastDodo) with the Belgian D cards, when I'm done with the Dutch D cards https://www.lastdodo.nl/nl/areas/441439-nederland? cf%5B8269%5D=3264545 then I can start with the Belgian ones, there are many variants that have never been in a paper catalog or magazine, this requires a lot of research beforehand and the Belgian D cards have been ignored here.

Unfortunately, technical information is not allowed in the title and the numbering is used for catalog numbers, for the following reasons, Landis & Gyr also has spare numbers that do not correspond to the year or month, and a chronological and alphabetical order is used here with the telephone cards used (determined by the card), but once they are numbered the card is usually easy to find, and yes clicking a number of times looking for a number will always stick to the D cards because once it is a long running series.

Improvement for the Belgians is coming :-)

greeting

Thank you for the answer Dennis.
So it is still a bit too early for me to venture onto the telephone card front, at least for Belgium.
In the meantime I am going to teach the little one here (10 years) to play the recorder (lol), that's fun too.

And (2)? At least 3/4 of image 2 is usually solid black, and the engraved number on a scan is not visible at the bottom right. Or is there a scanning technique that makes this possible?
Especially with series of seemingly the same (front) where the engraved number is decisive) it would be a nice improvement. Found the right card rapper ... everyone happy ... and inviting new collectors to LD. Attraction = conversion.
Of course, I would also be happy with it :)

In the section cigar bands, for example, image 3 is often used to briefly demonstrate the core of the uniqueness of an item ( text + enlargements). Very handy, because everyone would rather look at pictures than go through all the text in detail. It is a pity that this does not happen on the 2nd picture there, then you would immediately get a lot further in every search in the list view.
But with cigar bands the dimensions (nnn x nnn mm) have to come to save on a lot of clicks ... that's a different story.

If there is an extra filter on the so-called 'nominal value' ('Call value' for telephone cards) with time for Phone cards can recover, to limit the selection within which to search ... A hole in the air is then quickly made (after the expression 'jumping a hole in the air'). It is under consideration apparently.

With the coins it works like this, searching for nominal value, there is also a downside, if you want to enter a nominal value that is not yet on LastDodo, you must first ask the administrator if he wants to add it, just like that. adding currency is not possible.
With the Belgian Telecards, the title already shows Telecard 20 or 105, I also have to get permission to add an improvement, which has not always happened in the past, as Arco I didn't see anything in it then it didn't happen, I'll just call it something simple the field 'month' was not added.
If you had a card 110A and you go to 1991 and October it would have been found, now that is more difficult
Enlarging a piece of the map with image 3 will not always work, with a 600 DPI scan and neatly cut it is sometimes not yet readable, unfortunately, the 3rd image box is also in use for the folder, on a card, Telebrief etc. etc.
But any ideas are welcome, only if 71,000 items have to be manually edited will it stop him.
Regards
Phonocard

The fact that users cannot enter a new Nominal value is a choice of the administrators. Too many incorrect values were entered. Now the situation is that most values are in the list box. At the time, Coins opted for a different type of field, which the administrators can easily manage.

There are many requests for a new or modified field at different sections. However, there is no request for the Phone cards. I will add this request for an extra field Month.
Being able to filter by Nominal value is on the wish list.

if you want to enter a nominal value that is not already on LastDodo

Well, Dennis, that works better at Postzegels. It remains a free field.
An additional advantage is that every user with such a filter can then see all possible values of the calling value of his current selection in a list. All: the good ones, and also the (possibly) bad ones. Anyone can select a wrong and put it correctly afterwards. Errors seen more quickly and corrected more quickly, and a very effective search function. And a correction is immediately visible with a new search.
For stamps I have already corrected hundreds of incorrect notations ('0.5' is not the same as' 0.5 ', or' 0.5 '-' 0.5 '-' 0.5 '- 0.5' - '0 5' - '0 5' - '0.50' - ...).

I saw somewhere with 'similar' cards eg that for the calling credit, for example for one '20 units 'and for the other '20 units' was entered. The cards themselves only show '20'. Then in such a case, according to the guidelines of the administrator or the manual, of course, can be synchronized. Now I no longer know which cards they were, and I cannot easily find them back.

Adding month as a field seems very useful with a view to searching (if the field can be included in filters and sorts). And although there are already over 70,000 items to customize ... there are also many users / collectors, and especially potential collectors / users. Not directly the specialists (I am not a specialist either) but with (helping) hands. With some attraction (threshold a little lower) they could well become charmed.

Adding a currency is always possible even if the nominal value not available.
At nominal value unknown, the manager will automatically

I've been smoothing everything out and aligning it with (73,227) items improved for years, but it's also unfortunately mopping with the tap open, worst find always having to remove a duplicate theme like: Animals: Horses, Horses, Couple, Couple, Horse, Pairs, 1 Horse, 2 Horses, 3 Horses ... phew, but we're not giving up :-)

Dear collectors,

Can you help me with the following: Years ago I bought a box with about 1400 telephone cards in a thrift store. I am looking for an explanation on how to correctly date a telephone card. Been searching LASTDODO for an hour now. Can't see the wood for the trees anymore. I see in front of me the same cards for a very different price. There are numbers on the back (the oldest printed and the younger cards printed numbers). How do I search with those numbers in the catalog?

The catalog number of the PTT-KPN chip cards can be determined on the basis of the first four digits (see forum posts SDU NL and Solaic NL of 28-03-2018 and 02-05-2018). The numbers of the Landis and Gyr cards can be determined from the serial number on the back
(first three digits + letter).

Nicknamed007 The differences are in the date of the printing company, old or new telecom logo, with or without inking, 2mm, 3mm or 4mm bar, printed/overprinted or not, there are more than 20,000 different Dutch cards, so that is indeed a search.

But it is also easy to search if you know a little more about it, for example 603C = 6 (1986) 03 (March) C (series)

If you have any questions or don't know something, you can always contact us here

Have fun collecting
