On the labels of the LPs of the I Grandi Musicisti series (example: no. 4773099 ) is listed" non in vendeta "(not for sale). I wonder why.

Who can tell me how these LPs were delivered? Did you get them as a gift somewhere? Or maybe you had to subscribe? Or were they simply sold in the Netherlands?

Who knows ...?

When I look here , and try to understand what the translator makes of it :), I think they were attachments to a lecturama-like series. And therefore not sold 'separately'.

@pegag:

Thank you. It seems that the plates with the text are in one sleeve. So no separate attachment.

DisneyMeentwijk wrote for 1 of the records:

"The record is in a square thin paper inner sleeve in the right side of the record sleeve. Opening on the inside.
Also includes a 12-page booklet on the music and the composer "

I have almost the entire series and will be adding them to CataWiki soon (I finally got my record collection out of all the bags, unfortunately I am still short of shelves).

You have to compare this series with the present DeAgostini. It also publishes all kinds of magazines with something extra. And in the case of Records and CDs, this is the series The Classical Music collection and with records you also have a Dutch version, but I can't think of that. That series is therefore no longer published. The German version (actually an exact copy, I sometimes confuse the 2) was published by Bastei and the series was called Die Grossen Musiker .

As with all extras happens, everything is sometimes separated and thus also with the plates. You will sometimes come across the records separately, but they were not officially sold separately. And if you find the plate loose, it is nice if you have the original paper sleeve with it, because it is printed with advertising about the series.

I also have a nice number of albums from the Italian I Grandi Musicisti, as well as from Die Grossen Musiker collection.

I also have the table of contents of the Italian edition, a book of the same format as the albums : I Grandi Musicisti Indici.

Where can I best enter them in the catalog?

If I remember my collection correctly, it is a kind of pamphlet of several pages with the images of the plates on it, or am I wrong?

You must enter this in books with the link to the record series I Grande Musicisti .

Add the plates to this series indeed. Unfortunately I haven't gotten to it yet. It's at least 45, because I have a high number of those. All very nice. Don't forget to use all 3 images (front and back record cover and then label from Side 1.

As mentioned, you also have to be careful not to confuse them with the German version. The dimensions are almost or maybe completely the same, only the language is different.

Good luck in advance.

There are at least more than 45, possibly even 194 . The table of contents has no. 195 .

Don't be careful with mixing the German and Italian series, or you should be blind. The differences are obvious.

I have already imported the necessary Italian records, but not everything yet.

And I still have to do the German ones from Bastei.

But whether I will spend the holidays on that ......

Thanks for the input tip for the table of contents.

If I understand the German text correctly, Bastei has released only 50 albums under license:

1967 bis 1969 rewegte der Bastei-Verlag eine Schallplattenreihe mit dem Title DIE GROSSEN MUSIKER : Alle 14 Tage erschien ein (Doppel-) Album mit Klappcover und ausführlichen Hintergrundinformationen (Biografien der Komponisten as well as Material zu der Zeit und the Umständen, in der die Musik entstand) on 12 Seiten. Jede EP cost 5 DM, die Doppelalben jeweils 8 DM, which Scheiben wurden with 33 1/3 Umdrehungen absspielt und werezusätzlich in einer Extrahülle eingetütet.

DIE GROSSEN MUSIKER was that deutsche Lizenzausgabe der italienischen Reihe I Grandi Musicisti , which started 1966. Bastei stellte die Reihe nach 50 Ausgaben ein.

Einstellen seems to mean as much as stopping or stopping in this context.

Do you have that series, otherwise I would like to make an attempt to enter it as much as possible or as far as possible

what I remember I still have a banana box full don't say I have them complete but can give it a try.

Can make an attempt on Monday afternoon, if you can check / supplement the tracks etc

will see what i can do.

I got stuck somewhere in the 60s when it comes to music classical is not my thing in modern terms

I once got a reasonable picture of this series with the help of another collector

Hello Dick52

I only have a limited number of albums from both series.

Just let me know if you've entered something and I'll see what I can add.

Greeting,

Cor (Wow)

Today at my LP albums found a complete overview from 1969 of the albums released by Bastei; It concerns 53 LPs published in 50 albums.

If you are interested, I can send you a scan of the overview via private mail.

I am now in France and cannot access my records. I think I have a lot of the German series, but I don't have them all (I have a lot, because I can't remember the numbers and they all look nice and then I buy them when I see them). Biggest difference so out of my head is that the German version has a white cover and the Italian one has a gold one. But that is without looking in the Catalog.

The Netherlands has the De Klassieken series in 2 different versions, but was this series also not published in the Netherlands? I am very curious, because I really like them.

Biggest difference from my head is that the German version has a white cover and the Italian one a gold one.

It's actually more or less the other way around:

The Italian series has the white, uniformly designed covers.

The German series by Bastei has differently designed covers, not gold-colored, but often provided with color images, or completely in color (ie only the covers of the covers).

I'm amazed that with the current record hype DeAgostini has not started reissuing or reissuing the series or something similar?

Or did they think it was enough after the releases of the Classic Masterpieces series in all those CDs? Or don't they dare to revive classic records?

I entered about 30 of them, still have to do labels.

so far I have not come across a German pressing.

What I did notice is the inner sleeve contains information about the other releases of a composer, will also add labels I still have to do. and tracks etc.

what I did see is that this series is somewhere in the junkyard at V& D

I also saw one with a price of DM 2.50

in addition the lp were offered for 5 DM

and double for 8 DM.

And I must say nicely executed,

I personally think that this series is an Italian pressing for the W German market.

Considering the price it was dirt cheap in the 60 years, you paid more than 20.00 guilders per LP in that period.

It seems to me that fl 10.00 per lp was cheap for that time.

Think this is an immediate answer to DM's question.

I'll let you know as soon as I've made any changes

I think the Bastei albums are all pressed in Italy.

In the meantime I have supplemented Georg Friedrich Händel I with label and tracks.

I have now been able to add a number of this series, and of the 50 that have probably been released, we now have a good 38 of the 50, there is a duplicate but it will be removed.

Will see if I can still find the missing 12 who knows?

But someone else can also add them.

The nice thing is that now it also stands out: that series have been made in this series, for which separate storage boxes were available.

Each composer (series) has its own label color.

I personally think that the Italian series was published first and that after that the W German is made? in the Italian series I also came across the lp version from 1981, a re-press

The Italian series of I Grandi Musicisti consisted of 194 albums, I could verify on the basis of the Table of Contents (Indici)

The German series of Die Grossen Musiker consisted of a sleection of 50 albums and was produced in Italy by Fabbri Editori for Bastei Verlag in West Germany.

@ DM yes that is also a series in white covers but that is a different series (as far as I know now?).

We are talking about this series of Itilian which supposedly wielded the white cover

and about this the W German who later also used colored cover
