Would it be possible to choose from a list of countries instead of entering the countries themselves?
Or do this automatically (just like title or artist / band) for example, you don't get America instead of United States and England instead of United Kingdom.
This brings a little more uniformity to the catalog and makes it easier to use.
I want to possibly. do lead a list of countries

That was the case until a few months ago. Presumably something was forgotten or went wrong during reprogramming.
I use the Dutch names for the countries. And indeed United States and United Kingdom.
To be clear: for me, the country is the country of release. Not where the artist is from :-)

I have commented on this before.
I believe that the name of the country as it appears on the vinyl should be taken literally. And not what is stated on the cover.
Made in Holland, UK, Gt. Britain, Germany France U.S.A. etc.
And of course it is very nice if the stated country can be selected from a list.
And the uniformity is thus not wronged.

Is it generally not the case that the cover and the vinyl have the same country of pressing?
or does it also happen that the album covers are printed elsewhere than the countries where the vinyl is pressed?

Very often the country of pressing is indeed on the cover and on the vinyl. but there are exceptions. With Beatles EPs, for example, it often happens that the covers are printed in the UK and then exported. The other way around also occurs. That's why I always look at the vinyl. Different printed matter is usually on the cover and I will mention that in the details.
As for country names, it doesn't matter to me whether the vinyl says GB, UK, England or whatever. It's all United Kingdom. Made in Holland: is the same as the Netherlands. I want to know in which country the plate was pressed. Not how many ways you can write England :-)

I'm also curious about the production country, often the value of an album can be recognized by this kind of information
With The Beatles, those kinds of details that are mentioned on the label also determine the value of the
item.
The issue year can often also be traced on the basis of these types of statements.
Just like you mention Parlophone and not EMI with the label
Example of what you can get from the label cata nr 514023 and 432939
Very nice example cata nr 163983 (unfortunately the description does not cover the load, I suspect)
Here it is more about the cover Netherlands (s) and I really would have chosen the vinyl, England,
And no UK, etc.
I think that just needs to be agreed upon. The above example would of course have been partly bypassed if a category field (see message from Frans 17/9/09 series) could have been filled in and then it would of course have become clear where vinyl came from.
I know that at the moment Dutch spelling applies so we stick to it

Indeed, the label is often a source of information. The best thing would be if everyone made a clear scan of the label and added it as image 3. Now you sometimes see an image of a cover with a piece of plate from it. So that is of no use to you. You cannot read the text on the cover or the text of the label.

Exactly, I am in favor if you come across such an item and you have this record too, and you have the opportunity to post better photos, to do so too.
This way everyone can contribute to a list that is as complete as possible.
